Ayah/Verse to Remember

In the name of God, most compassionate, most merciful. Invite to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them in the best manners. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided." (Al-Quran 16:125)

How to Get Your Child to Graduate By Age 14

My kids are on track to graduate from high school at age 14, inshaAllah. And at ages eight and six, my kids have collectively authored and published five books of their own, and are asked to speak at schools around the country – TabarakAllah.

I travel around the country giving seminars and talks to college students, parents, youth, Muslim and non-Muslim. One question I get all the time is, “How are you doing it Zohra?” How are your children so advanced for their ages?”

Alhamdulillah, first and foremost it’s with the tawfiq of Allah. However, it’s not as impossible as you may think:

You’re probably wondering, “What? How?” I will tell you a few strategies that can help you do the same. I will start off with, how they can graduate high school early.

Plan 1: Skipping Grades.

Students taking placement tests and passing to the next class is not as hard as many parents think. The problem is that we don’t give our kids the benefit of doubt. All of our kids are geniuses; all we need to do is help them see it.

Kids are naturally motivated to excel on their own without mommy and daddy always looking behind their shoulders. This can work great when it comes to excelling in school.

For all the busy people who have to work, for the first two-to-three years of their child’s education, sit with them every evening and go over homework and also have the child explain it to the parents.

I know you’re probably thinking I don’t have any time for that – with dinner to serve, baths and so on. I am telling you that if you want your child to excel and not worry about nagging them later, then you need to sacrifice some time and be there for them when it counts. What I would do to take care of this problem is:

a.) Cook the whole week’s meals on Sunday’s and just heat and serve during the week.

b.) Take the phone off of the hook and just focus on your child for 1-2 hours. If you have more than one child, have all of them studying at the same time and spend a few minutes with each one. Basically make rounds during that time, so they each get your full attention.

Again, this will take some training and some pushing on your part, but remember the benefits are for you. If you can get all of your children to get scholarships to college would that alone not be worth it? If you have two or three children, that is the equivalent of saving anywhere between $30,000- $50,000. What’s sad is that most parents don’t even have that money to help their kids out with college, so everyone gets into debt for school.

Let’s just say that you really can’t do it because of how your life is scheduled right now, what about hiring a tutor for just a few dollars an hour; a young teenager to help your child with what you want. Believe me it will give your child confidence and skills that they didn’t know they had.

Plan 2: Home-schooling your children.

Did you know that homeschooled children are the first to be recruited by universities such as Yale, Stanford and Harvard? They believe (and rightfully so) that homeschooled children are disciplined to learn and teach themselves. You’re probably thinking, “I am too busy, I can’t home school.” That’s what I was saying; I used to be a corporate mom and enjoyed it too.

After I realized that no one cared as much about my kid’s education as me, I changed my lifestyle to make it happen. However, I can hear some of you saying right now, “But I can’t do it, because of my responsibilities.” I understand, and will not push you do it my way, but for all of those moms who are at home, they can home school.

Imagine spending about three hours a day with your child to learn and the rest of the time, they teach themselves. They have to read books, do projects, explore. Imagine if you had a curriculum that helped them graduate high school by the age of 14. Which college would not want them? If they are that smart, you will have schools fighting for them. At that age, I personally recommend a university close to home, so parents can drop in and pick them up.

Imagine raising two, three or even four great kids who are smart, talented, well-educated and loved. What can those kids do for us? Anything. The problem with society today is we want to do everything and be great at it. However, the tragedy is usually the first thing to suffer is our families — be it our marriage or our kids.

We need to refocus and think about our lives, if we were to be alive 15 years from now, what is most important to us? Is it our careers, being a CEO of a company? Is it being the best lawyer? Or is it raising super stars and working part time with it? I am not saying ladies don’t have careers, all I am saying is that we need to focus on our families, too.

Maybe the first 15 years should be focused on teaching our kids manners, love, respect, hadith of the Prophet (PBUH) but most importantly, the Quran. Every morning wake them up to pray and read Quran before they leave the house.

We need to build families and not just careers. Allah (SWT) has put us on earth to test us. One of the tests is motherhood. Are we really doing what we should be doing, or are we just trying to keep up with the Joneses? If we don’t take care of our kids, with love, knowledge and patience, why will they want to take care of us as we age? Think about it. Think deeply. I will let you read this story to help better understand my point:

“A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law and four-year old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table.

But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about father,” said the son. “I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.”

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in grandfather’s direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making?” Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food in when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what had to be done.

That evening the husband took grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.” – Unknown Author

I am a woman who likes to lead by my actions and not just my words, as for my children, all 3 of them want to be authors in areas that they can help society inshAllah. All 3 of them have goals to memorize the Quran and be scholars of Islam, and pursue other careers as well. My daughter wants to be a zoologist and get a Ph.D in Islam. My son wants to be a haffith, scholar, and an inventor. Remember that we must all answer to Allah (SWT) about how we took care of what He gave us. That should be enough for all of us to want to do it, for what will our answers be to Ar-Rahman? I leave you with words of encouragement to help your kids achieve their dreams and goals within the Islamic scope of life, they don’t have to give up their deen to be successful in this life, and they can do both inshAllah. However, they need the support of mom and dad.

In conclusion, your child can become anything, but needs your support along the way. Your child needs your love, compassion and patience to teach him or her. Be the best parent you can be, so that you don’t have regrets later! I hope that you have gotten the point that your child can graduate early inshAllah, and even have the chance of going to college early, but more than anything they have the potential to being the leaders for Ummah when you and I are gone, inshAllah. You must nurture the seeds you have planted, you water it, fertilize it, and give it sunshine or else it won’t bloom like you want it to.

Islamic history shows thousands of Muslim Women teachings hadith to the Muslim Ummah

There have been over 8,000 Muslim women who have narrated and taught the hadiths in Islamic history, an Islamic scholar said Tuesday.

"In addition to transmitting hadiths, women can give fatwa (edicts) too," said Dr Mohammad Akram Nadwi at a public lecture at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) that shed the popular belief that such activities were strictly in the male domain.

"The Prophet Muhammad left an ummah (muslim community) where men and women were treated equally," he added, citing as examples several Muslim women who had taught and narrated the Sahih al-Bukhari in mosques and to several caliphs.

Dr Nadwi, who was speaking on the Role of Women in the Hadith Movement, is currently revising his 40-volume biographical dictionary of women narrators and scholars of the hadiths, that is, the reports of the sayings or actions of the Prophet or his companions, together with the tradition of their chain of transmission - Source

94.2 Billion bill, but only 8% of bill is towards none military operations. Fund Diplomacy, not War.

National Call-In Day:

The Obama Administration has asked Congress for another $83.4 billion in supplemental funding for ongoing military, diplomatic, and intelligence operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the bill’s voyage through the House Appropriations Committee, that amount has ballooned to $94.2 billion. Yet, only about 8% of the funding in this bill is for non-military activities. [1]
Members of Congress will vote on the supplemental as early as this week. Now is the time for constituents to voice their concern over an extension of the failed policy of subordinating diplomacy to military activities.
Today, May 12th, join the National Call-In Day and let your representative know that you support funding for diplomacy, development, humanitarian aid, and the safe withdrawal of troops, but that you oppose funding for extended military operations.
http://www.justforeignpolicy.org/act/call.html
While making your call, urge your representative to co-sponsor a bill by Congressman James McGovern that would require President Obama to provide an exit plan for Afghanistan no later than December 2009.
There is no military solution to the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Funding for these conflicts must reflect reality -- that only diplomacy and development will lead to a stable Middle East.
Calling your representative is easy - just follow the simple instructions below:

Justice in The Quran

In the name of god the most gracious most mercyful
Bism Allah Alrahman Alraheem

"If you do judge, judge between them justly.God loves the just" Quran 5:42

The true justice described in the Quran commands man to behave justly, not discriminating between people, protecting others rights and not permitting violence, no matter the circumstances, to side with the oppressed against the oppressor and to help the needy. This justice calls for the rights of both parties to be pretected when reaching a decision in dispute, assessing all aspects of an incident, setting aside all prejudices, being objective, honest, tolerant, merciful and compassionate.

In the events one fails to display any of these characteristics or attaches greater importance to a particular one, then it becomes hard to exercise true justice. We must seek justice and set all personal feelings aside , we need to treat all parties with justice when they ask for our help. A person should incorporate the values of the Quran into ones soul in such a way that he may be able to consider the interests of others parties before his own and maintain justice, even if this harms his own interests

O You who believe! show integrity for the sake of god, bearing witness with justice. Do not let hatres for a people incite you into not being just. Be just. That is closer to faith. Heed god (alone).God is aware of what you do. Quran 5:8

As this verse suggests, God knows everything a man does, one who fears god and who is aware of that will have to account for his deeds on the Day of judgment, Any Muslim who knows the Quran knows this .

The Quran teaches all Muslims to put an extra effort to put their selfish desires aside and adopt the guidance of justice and compassion, tolerance and peace. God in the Quran gives a detailed description of the true justice in the Quran and informs us that all sorts of disagreements can be solved by the maintenance of justice, In a society made of righteous administrators and just peoples, it is obvious that all problems can be easily over come .

lets look at this verse which is so powerful in my eyes the verse reads

O Mankind! We created you from a male and female and made you into people and tribes so that you might come to know each other, the noblest among you in gods sight is the one of you who best performs his duty(towards mankind). God is all knowing , all aware. Quran 49:13

this verse clearly teaches that all humanity is one family and that the difference in races ect is not to differentiate who is better the who , but simply to get to know each other, the prophet ( pbuh) also said An Arab has no superiority over a none Arab ,nor a none Arab has superiority over an Arab, also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has superiority over a white except by piety and good actions.

There are so many more verses and examples of the teachings of Islam to its followers to uphold justice, stand up for the oppressed, to speak the truth even against ones own family and relatives.

Basic Info on Islam

Peace be unto you all or Alsallam Alaykum

Islam is a monotheistic religion

In the 7th century, It was revealed to Mohammad-pbuh ( through the Angel Gabrial-pbuh) that he is a chosen messenger of God.

The First word sent from God to Mohammad-pbuh was "Read"

The revelations received by the Prophet Muhammad-pbuh were over a 20 or so year span and through out that time,

He guided the people in his community as time progressed, more verses were revealed, Mohammad-pbuh always waited for God's word to be sent before making any decisions.

At the Time of the prophets pass away, there were many learned scholars among them who knew the Quran from beginning to end.

Muslim realized the Importance of keeping the words sent intact, therefor they started transfering it from memory to paper. Upon its completion all the hafiz(those who memorized the Quran) agreed 100%.

The Quran is the Most sacred and important book for ALL Muslims and most Important possession.

Mohammad-pbuh is the last and final messenger sent from God, with a message (the Quran) to all humanity.

The Arabic word Islam can means "submission" As to submitting to the will of God.

Islamic practices are defined by the Five Pillars of Islam:
Shihada/Testimony
Prayer
Fasting
Pilgrimage
Charity

Islam is a very spiritual faith system and the Quran commands Muslims to uphold Justice and be among the righteous.

Islam is being followed by over a billion and a half Muslims in all parts of the world.

Study and learn about Islam. Jazakon Allah Khary.
May God reward you Blessings.

Honesty and Fair dealing. Few lessons about business in the Quran

Honesty is a very important quality which the Quran requires of all of the believers. Muslims are taught in the Quran many important values which are greatly benificial to humanity ( as a whole ).

Lets look at a few verses.

"Cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is)." (2:42) The word cover can mean many things, which apply to all daily life activities in regards to your life, career, humanity, and can relate to every single activity in regards to every single human being. or it can simply mean. Don't willingly lie and deceive. If you know the truth then you MUST speak the truth.

"Take not your oaths, to practice deception between yourselves." (16:94)

Once you make a deal, don't break it. As is saying don't make an alliance, then aim to achieve personal ambitions which are against the agreement.

"Truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?" (38:24)

Words revealed 1400 years ago, yet are dead on even in this life time. Matter fact in our life time, those partner who wrong each other are much greater in numbers then before. Not to worry though the numbers of the righteous is up there as well.

"Woe to those that deal in fraud, - Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, but when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due." (83:1-3)

The first part is clear, WOE TO THOSE THAT DEAL IN FRAUD. saying if your involved in Fraud activities then its not looking so shady for you on judgment day. Then it goes on to explain that in Business, we must not be stingy and give exactly what is due.

In many ways, these lessons can easily be applied as legislative laws, simple yet very direct on do's and don't in business and in life, towards your community or society.

Laws are supposed to serve and protect. I hope we see how the Quran has plenty of Laws that serve and protect. I think we can agree at least this on this topic discussed.

Are reverts to Islam more eager to discover Islam then born Muslims ?

It seems to me that (most) Muslim converts are more religious and eager to know about Islam than a good amount of those who are born Muslims?

Its a very good question to think about

Its easy to think that it can be what your born into, for example if someone is born rich, they tend to not appreciate wealth and spend at will for personal pleasure and not even consider how much they are spending. Money is nothing

People born into Islam in many occasions understand it from whats around them and might not be taking full advantage of what they have in the Quran. Many reverts dig deeper in my opinion to show the more sensible, reasonable, modest, among so many other attribute. for example many great former Christians have inspired many new converted Muslims like yusuf estes. Yet again many Muslims have as well done so, I think its all well balanced and Allah knows best.

It seems that on some issues the reverts are doing a great job and its all well in Allah's/Gods cause. All of us Muslims should understand Islam at its highest peak, more on education and knowledge and more for peace and unity. There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is Allah's prophet.

I think honestly there are not enough Muslims spreading Islam and more should be doing so.

Yallah, Pick up a Quran and remember always ALLAH AKBAR

What Does Islam say about beheadings?

That is a good question

To answer it simply, well its against Islam to kill a defenseless man, or a person who posses no threat to you.

There are two mentioning of beheadings in the Quran.

Chapter 47:3 says “When you encounter the unbelievers on the battlefield, strike off their heads until you have crushed them completely; then bind the [surviving] prisoners tightly.” Chapter 8:12 states “I will cast dread into the hearts of the unbelievers. Strike off their heads, then, and strike off all of their fingertips.

To say Islam and the Quran support and commands Muslims to behead unbelievers is really out of tone with the Quranic teachings in regards to innocent people as is none militant ones.

Accourding to Islam, humanity is the result of Adam and Eve, so lets see what the Quran speaks in regards to the children of Adam and Eve.

17: 70 And indeed Allah (God) has honored the Children of Adam, and Allah (God) carried them on land and sea, and has provided them with At-Taiyibât (lawful good things), and has preferred them above many of those whom He has created with a marked preference.

The Quran clearly commands in verse in Chapter 2:190

Fight in the Cause of Allah, those who fight you, but Dont transgress. Allah DOESN'T LOVE transgressors.

Lets bring this very important verse to light Chapter 76:8-11

And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and THE CAPTIVE OF WAR.
Say( Muslims ) : We only fear a day of distressful wrath from the side of our lord. Lo, Allah will deliver them from the evil of that day, and will shed over them a light of beauty and joy.

Chapter.2:112

But FORGIVE THEM, and overlook (their misdeeds). Verily, Allah loves the good¬doers.

Chapter 7:199 Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and TURN AWAY FROM the FOOLISH (i.e. don't punish them).

An Example of Allah's Mercy in the Quran

Say: 'O My servants who have transgressed against your own souls: do not despair of God's mercy,
for God forgives all sins. It is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'
Qur'an (39:53)

More Quranic verses in regards to mercy and love>

Islam condemns violence against the innocent, and the QURANIC teachings are much deeper then two verses, that all people will be held accountable for their actions.

Life and Death are STRICTLY given by Allah and ONLY Allah has the right to decide who stays and who goes.

Islam orders Muslims to fight those who transgress against them and never supported war through force.

Islam means to submit to Allah and Allah teaches us in the Quran to submit to Allah's will and to try and not force the issue.

You can look at all the verses you want, but over all the message is clear and killing unjustly will have its punishment according to Allah, and a very strict law to break when it comes to the value of human beings.

The Quran also makes a clear case for the prophet Mohammad (pbuh) as well

And it was by God`s grace that thou [O Prophet] didst deal gently with thy followers: for if thou hadst been
harsh and hard of heart, they would indeed have broken away from thee` (3:159).

How does the Quran command Muslims to spread Islam truly ?

`Call thou [all mankind] unto thy Sustainer`s path with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them in the most kindly manner`
(16:125).

This might blow the minds of Muslim critics at HOW IMPORTANT MERCY IS TO ALLAH, in this verse here clearly Allah stats in chapter 6:12 He [Allah] has inscribed [prescribed] for himself (the rule of) mercy.

Its of extreme importance of the act of mercy in Islam, because Allah tells us in this verse that Mercy is inscribed into his law and its a law on ALLAHS to show MERCY to all creation,

Muslim must be more more mercyfull with all of Allahs creation and specifically the children of Adam and Eve. Allah commands this mercy, and for a Muslim to love Allah they must be mercy full.

Islam is against acts of terror and unjust actions. Before you judge the moment, judge the teachings, and the Quran commands good and Just actions and commands to never be among the unjust and evil doers.

"You do it because it feels right," said Ellis. "To me it's no big deal. But people like to know what you believe in. And this is what I believe in."

Ellis said he has been studying the Quran for years and that his new religion was originally practiced by his ancestors before they were brought to North America as slaves.

Above: 'The True Furqan'

You Can't Ignore this or send it to as many muslims as u can.

The new AMERICAN Quran: a dangerous trick.
A new Quran is being distributed in Kuwait, titled 'The True Furqan'.
It is being described as the ayats of the Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out that the two American printing Companies; 'Omega 2001' and 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of 'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled 'The 21st Century Quran'!
It has over 366 pages and is in both the Arabic and English languages...it is being distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil. Instead of Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer vesion of this incorporating the Christian belief of the three spirits.

And this so called Quran opposes many Islamic beliefs. In one of its ayats it describes having more than one wife as fornication, divorce being non-permissible and it uses a new system for the sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It states that Jihad is HARAAM.

This book even goes as far as attacking Allah, Subhanahu wa Tahala!

All this is poisoning our children at approx. price of US $3.

Brothers and Sisters, it is up to you whether you all want to forward this message or not!

But if this is true and you do forward it, it will benefit all those who read it.

Calligraphy

From the Greek word for "beautiful writing," calligraphy was considered the highest art form in Islam, for several reasons. For one, Muslims believe that Allah used the Arabic language to recite the Qur'an to Muhammad, and for that reason, it has a spiritual meaning for Muslims. Also, using words as artistry avoided the problem of using pictorial images. Whereas decorative writing all but disappeared in Europe with the advent of the printing press, the Islamic world retained it as an art form long after the necessity of writing longhand was removed by modern technology. Calligraphy adorned architecture, decorative arts, coins, jewellery, textiles, weapons, tools, paintings, and manuscripts.

Although the Arabic language and script existed before Islam, the spread of the religion also facilitated the spread of the language throughout the new Muslim lands. Arabic became a basic component of Islamic culture, mostly because it was the language of the Qur'an. Caliph Abd al-Malik (r. 685-705) decreed that Arabic should be the administrative language of the empire. There were many Muslim regions, of course, in which Arabic was not the native language. Persian was the major non-Arabic language spoken in the Islamic world, and in the 7th century it had its own script. As Islam spread through the areas where Persian and other languages were spoken, however, the Arabic script was adopted. The Persian language, also known as Farsi, added four letters to the Arabic script to represent sounds that existed in Persian, but not in Arabic. The Turks later also added another letter to render a distinctly Turkish sound, although modern Turkish no longer uses the Arabic script. The Arabic script is still used to write the Kazakh, Uzbek, and Tajik languages in Central Asia, as well as Urdu in present-day Pakistan. It was also used at one point, though no longer, to write Malay, Swahili, and several North African languages. Arabic, belonging to the Semitic language group, has 28 letters. There are only 17 different forms, however, so dots or strokes above or below the forms are used to indicate different letters. For calligraphic purposes, these extra markings add to the beauty and artistic appeal of Arabic.

Sheikh Ahmed Ismail Yassin

Sheikh Ahmed Ismail Yassin was born in the village of Al-Jora, Majdal district, in 1938 and sought refuge alongside his family in the nearby Gaza Strip following the 1948 Nakba or the usurpation of most of Palestine at the hands of Zionist gangs.

The Sheikh was paralyzed in his youth as a result of an accident while exercising on the beaches of Gaza.

He worked as a teacher of Arabic language and Islamic religion then as a Khatib (preacher) and teacher in the Gaza mosques. He turned into one of the most vociferous and most famous Khatibs in the Gaza Strip following its occupation in 1967.

He also worked as a chairman of the Islamic Complex in Gaza before his arrest in 1983 for possession of weapons, establishing a military organization and championing the annihilation of the Hebrew state. The Sheikh was court-martialed and the Israeli judges passed a 13 years prison term against him.

He was released in 1985 in line with a prisoners’ exchange deal between the Zionist authorities and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – The General Command after spending 11 months in prison.

The Sheikh founded the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, along with a number of Islamic activists in the Gaza Strip in 1987.

Zionist occupation forces broke into and ransacked his house in late August 1988 and threatened to push him along with his wheelchair across the borders into Lebanon.

On the evening of 18/5/1989 the occupation authorities arrested Sheikh Ahmed Yassin along with hundreds of Hamas activists in a desperate attempt to curb the armed resistance that started to take the form of attacks on settlers and soldiers.

On 16/10/1991 a Israeli army court passed a life sentence in addition to 15 years imprisonment sentence against Sheikh Ahmed Yassin after an indictment list leveled nine charges against him including inciting the kidnap and killing of Israeli soldiers and the establishment of the Hamas Movement’s security and military wings.

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, other than his complete paralysis, suffered a number of other disabilities and diseases including loss of eyesight in his right eye due to Israeli blows during interrogation in addition to weakness in his left eye. He also suffered from chronic inflammation in his ear, lung infection and other diseases in his abdomen.

The detention of the Sheikh in jails further worsened his health conditions, which necessitated carrying him to hospital on numerous occasions.

On 13/12/1992 a commando cell affiliated with the Qassam Brigades, military wing of Hamas, kidnapped an Israeli soldier and offered to set him free in return for the release of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and a number of other detainees in jails including sick and elderly and Arab captives. However, the Israeli government refused the offer and stormed the house where the soldier was held leading to his death along with commander of the attacking unit and two other soldiers before the martyrdom of the three members of that cell in Bir Nabala near occupied Jerusalem.

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was released on 1/10/1997 in accordance with an agreement between Jordan and the Israel that stipulated the release of the Sheikh in return for delivering to Tel Aviv two intelligence agents, who were arrested in Jordan following an aborted assassination attempt of Khaled Mishaal, political bureau chief of the Hamas Movement.

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin survived a assassination attempt on 6th September 2003 when Zionist army choppers fired missiles at a house in Gaza. He was only lightly injured in his right arm.

Ahmad Yassin was assassinated in an Israeli helicopter missile strike on 21 March 2004.

Israeli helicopter gunships fired missiles at Hamas' spiritual leader, Shaikh Ahmed Yassin, as he left a mosque after performing the Monday dawn prayers, killing the Hamas leader and six other worshippers. A reporter who rushed to the scene after hearing three loud explosions found the blown-up remains of Yassin's blood-soaked wheel-chair.

Witnesses at the mosque said Yassin's body had been evacuated to Al-Shifa Hospital.

Al-Manar TV reported that the Israeli Prime Minister, Sharon, personally supervised the assassination of Shaikh Yassin, whose death may be an attempt by Sharon to distract public attention from his personal scandals.

Dr. Abdul al-Aziz Rantisi was appointed head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip following the assassination of Ahmad Yassin on 22 March 2004.

Islam Commands The Faithful Always To Be Forgiving

One of the important signs of compassion is for a person to be able to be forgiving. This is how Allah calls upon His servants to be forgiving in the Qur'an:

Make allowances for people, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant. (Surat al A'raf: 199)

This is something that people may find difficult, but is an attitude that will be well rewarded in the sight of Allah. People may well be caught up in anger and refuse to forgive a mistake. But Allah has revealed to the faithful that it is better to forgive, and has recommended this morality to them:

The repayment of a bad action is one equivalent to it.But if someone pardons and puts things right, his reward is with Allah... (Surat ash-Shura: 40)

In another verse, Allah reveals that "But if someone is steadfast and forgives, that is the most resolute course to follow." (Surat ash-Shura: 43) and emphasizes that this is a very superior form of morality. In the words "Those of you possessing affluence and ample wealth should not make oaths that they will not give to their relatives and the very poor and those who have made hijra in the way of Allah. They should rather pardon and overlook. Would you not love Allah to forgive you? Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Surat an-Nur: 22) Allah encourages the faithful to consider their own position when it comes to being forgiving. That is because everyone wants Allah to forgive and protect and show him mercy. In the same way, we all hope that other people will excuse and forgive us if we make a mistake. Allah has thus commanded the faithful to treat others in the same way that they would like to be treated themselves. That is an important responsibility, and one that encourages the faithful to be forgiving towards one another. Our Prophet encouraged the faithful to be forgiving in the words, 'Allah has not failed to exalt any man who has forgiven unfairness or cruelty.' (Ahmad)

Since believers know that they may make a mistake at any moment, they behave tolerantly towards others. That is because those verses in the Qur'an that deal with repentance make it clear that the important thing is not making a mistake but rather being determined not to repeat a mistake as soon as one realizes one has done so. One of these verses reads:

Allah only accepts the tawba of those who do evil in ignorance and then quickly make tawba after doing it. Allah turns towards such people. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (Surat an-Nisa': 17)

Under these conditions, that reveal the sincerity of the individual, the faithful behave most forgivingly and compassionately towards one another. If someone who has committed an error sincerely repents having done so, then they cannot judge that person for his past deeds. Furthermore, even if the faithful are totally in the right and the other side completely in the wrong, they still have no compunction about forgiveness. That is because Allah recommends such behaviour as an example of proper morality, "Those who give in times of both ease and hardship, those who control their rage and pardon other people - Allah loves the good-doers - " (Surah Al 'Imran: 134)

When it comes to forgiveness, the faithful do not distinguish between great and small errors, and do not tailor their view of forgiveness accordingly. Someone may have committed an error and led to great loss of life or great financial loss, thus inflicting severe harm on others. Yet the faithful know that everything that happens does so by the permission of Allah and as part of His destiny, and therefore place themselves in the hands of Allah when it comes to such things, and feel no personal anger.

Alternatively, someone may have transgressed this Qur'anic rule and exceeded the bounds set by Allah. Yet it is only Allah who can judge that person's behaviour. That means that it is never up to the faithful to judge or refuse to forgive anybody on any matter. If a person is truly sorry and repentant then he will have his reward only in the sight of Allah. In fact, Allah has revealed in many verses that apart from 'ascribing partners to Him,' he will forgive the errors of the faithful if they sincerely repent. Since the faithful cannot know that, they simply forgive in the manner revealed to them By Allah, and if the Qur'an has anything to say on a particular subject they treat the person who has committed an error in the light of that.

Islam Commands Muslims to Behave Justly

Islamic morality commands believers to behave justly when taking a decision, speaking or working, and in short in all areas of their lives. Allah's commandments in the Qur'an and the sunna of our Prophet describe that understanding of justice in great detail. All the messengers revealed to us in the Qur'an, brought peace and justice to all the communities they were sent to with their warnings, and the prophets were a means whereby cruelty and despotism were lifted from the shoulders of the community of the faithful. As Allah has revealed in one verse;

Every nation has a Messenger and when their Messenger comes everything is decided between them justly. They are not wronged. (Surah Yunus: 47)

The most important feature of the Islamic understanding of justice is that it commands justice at all times, even if the person one is dealing with is very close to one. As Allah commands in another verse:

You who have iman! be upholders of justice, bearing witness for Allah alone, even against yourselves or your parents and relatives. Whether they are rich or poor, Allah is well able to look after them. Do not follow your own desires and deviate from the truth. If you twist or turn away, Allah is aware of what you do. (Surat an-Nisa: 135)

Allah commands you to return to their owners the things you hold on trust and, when you judge between people, to judge with justice. How excellent is what Allah exhorts you to do!... (Surat al-Nisa': 58)

As that verse makes clear, the wealth or social status of the person he is dealing with is of no importance to a believer. The important thing is fairness, that nobody should be treated unjustly, and the scrupulous implementation of the holy verses of Allah. This is how it is commanded in another verse:

You who have iman! show integrity for the sake of Allah, bearing witness with justice. Do not let hatred for a people incite you into not being just. Be just. That is closer to taqwa. Have taqwa of Allah. Allah is aware of what you do. (Surat al-Maida: 8)

In that verse, Allah orders the faithful always to act justly, even when it comes to their own enemies. No Muslim can make a spontaneous decision on the basis that the person he is dealing with once harmed him or left him in a difficult situation, or that he is a personal enemy. If the other side is genuinely in the wrong, the Muslim has a duty to respond with good and to display the morality commanded by Allah.

Allah has issued the following commandment to believers: Allah does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the deen or driven you from your homes,or from being just towards them.Allah loves those who are just. (Surat al- Mumtahana: 8) He has informed Muslims what the nature of their relationships with other communities should be. These verses are the very foundation of a believer's view of all other people. A Muslim's attitude towards others is formed not by the nature of the person he is dealing with, but rather by Allah's revelations in the Qur'an. That is why Muslims with pure hearts always support what is right. Their determination on this matter is revealed in these terms,

Among those We have created there is a community who guide by the Truth and act justly according to it. (Surat al-A'raf: 181)

Other verses on the subject of justice read:

Allah commands you to return to their owners the things you hold on trust and, when you judge between people, to judge with justice. How excellent is what Allah exhorts you to do! Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (Surat an-Nisa': 58)

Say: 'My Lord has commanded justice. Stand and face Him in every mosque and call on Him, making your deen sincerely His. As He originated you, so you will return.' (Surat al- A'raf: 29)

Allah commands justice and doing good and giving to relatives. And He forbids indecency and doing wrong and tyranny. He warns you so that hopefully you will pay heed. (Surat an-Nahl: 90)

According to the view of justice as set out in the Qur'an, the religion, race and gender of the person is dealing with are of no importance. That is because Islam maintains that all races and genders are equal. Our Prophet's words that "All men come from the Prophet Adam, and the Prophet Adam comes from the earth' stress that there is no difference between people."(Ibni Mace, Menasik, p.84) Features such as skin colour, social status and wealth confer no superiority on anybody.

All over the world people are subjected to cruel treatment because of their race, language or skin colour. Yet according to the Qur'an, one of the reasons for the creation of different tribes and peoples is that 'they should come to know one another.' All tribes and nations are the servants of Allah, and must come to know one another and learn their different cultures, languages, customs and abilities. One intention behind the existence of different nations and races is cultural wealth, not war and conflict. All true believers know very well that only godliness can impart superiority, in other words the fear of Allah and faith in Him. As Allah has revealed in the Qur'an:

Mankind! We created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you might come to know each other. The noblest among you in Allah's sight is the one with the most taqwa.Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Surat al-Hujurat: 13)

Elsewhere, He has revealed:

Among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and earth and the variety of your languages and colours. There are certainly Signs in that for every being. (Surat ar-Rum: 22)

When we look at the history of Islam we see many examples in which the faithful behaved with complete justice towards other races. Islam grew unbelievably quickly over a wide area, taking in Africa, Asia and Europe. The beauty of Islamic morality were thus spread by means of these conquests. Islam has spread to all races, nations, social structures and regions, and has brought millions of people together with a bond of brotherhood the like of which the world had never before seen.

Professor Hamilton Alexander Rossken Gibb is one of the world's foremost experts on Islam. In his book Whither Islam he describes the Islamic view of other races:

"No other society has such a record of success uniting in an equality of status, of opportunity, and of endeavors so many and so various races of mankind . . . Islam has still the power to reconcile apparently irreconcilable elements of race and tradition. If ever the opposition of the great societies of East and West is to be replaced by cooperation, the mediation of Islam is an indispensable condition." (H.A.R. Gibb, WHITHER ISLAM, London, 1932, p. 379. http://bama.ua.edu/~msa/islam.html)

Islamic morality aims at a society built on brotherhood, peace, freedom and security. That is why all communities that have come into contact with Islam have given up their oppressive, cruel and aggressive ways, and instead built a society built on peace. (For further details see Justice and Tolerance in the Qur'an by Harun Yahya) Many Western historians have expressed that fact in their works and stated how Islam had deep and positive affects on communities that came into contact with it. In his book The Making of Humanity, Professor Robert Briffault discusses the relationship between Western society and Islam:

"The ideas that inspired the French Revolution and the Declaration of Rights, that guided the framing of the American Constitution and inflamed that struggle for independence in the Latin American countries [and elsewhere] were not inventions of the West. They find their ultimate inspiration and source in the Holy Quran."

(Prof. Robert Briffault, The Making of Humanity, http://www.tolueislam.com/Bazm/Shahid/SM_012.htm)

The truths in the above extracts are an indication of the way that Islamic morality has taught people about peace, tolerance and justice down the centuries. Nowadays, everybody is seeking just such a model, and there is no reason why such a culture should not once more come about. All that is necessary is for people to want to live by the morality of the Qur'an, beginning with themselves and later making efforts to spread it to other people. When the morality commanded in the Qur'an begins to be implemented everybody, from the very highest ranks to the very lowest, will be just, compassionate, tolerant, full of love, respectful and forgiving, and that will bring peace to the whole of society.

Harun Yahya - Mr. Adnan Oktar

Harun Yahya is a pen name used by Mr. Adnan Oktar.

A short biography of Adnan Oktar:

Born in Ankara in 1956, Adnan Oktar lived there through his high school years. During this period, his devotion to Islamic moral values grew even stronger. He deepened his profound knowledge of Islam by reading works of all the great Islamic scholars and decided to tell everyone about Islam's moral values and summon them to a knowledge of truth and beauty.

To continue his education, he entered Istanbul's Mimar Sinan University in 1979 coming in third from among thousands of candidates. Oktar, a talented artist since childhood who regards art as a manifestation of Allah's superior creation, painted surrealist pictures from time to time and gave away a large number of paintings as gifts to friends. In addition, Oktar numbers animals, plants and flowers among his spheres of interest, as well as horticulture, interior design, and décor.

Adnan Oktar is a prominent Turkish intellectual. Completely devoted to moral values and dedicated to communicating the sacred values he cherishes to other people, Oktar started his intellectual struggle in 1979 during his education at Mimar Sinan University's Academy of Fine Arts. During his university years, he carried out detailed research into the prevalent materialistic philosophies and ideologies around him, to the extent of becoming even more knowledgeable about them than their advocates. As a result of his accumulation of knowledge, he has written various books on the fallacy of the theory of evolution. His dedicated intellectual effort against Darwinism and materialism has grown out to be a worldwide phenomenon. Quoting from the 22 April 2000 issue of New Scientist, Mr. Oktar became an "international hero" in communicating the fallacy of the theory of evolution and the fact of creation. The author's intellectual struggle against materialism and Darwinism has frequently been mentioned in such mainly evolutionist publications as National Geographic, Science, New Scientist and NSCE Reports. The English and German editions of the November, 2004, issue of National Geographic referred to the author's works concerning the Fact of Creation. The following quotation from the book The Evolution Deceit was also included: "The theory of evolution is nothing but a deception imposed on us by the dominators of the world system." The author has also produced various works on Zionist racism and Freemasonry and their negative effects on world history and politics. The Zionism criticised by the author in his books is the baseless claims of Zionist extremists pretend to world sovereignty, regard other human beings as worthless entities, maintain that the Jews are the chosen people and that God is theirs alone. Yet the author's writings very definitely do not imply a rejection of the Jews' right to live in peace and security within the borders of their own state.

Islam Forbids the Killing of Innocent People

According to Islam it is a great sin to kill an innocent person, and anyone who does so will suffer great torment in the hereafter:

...So We decreed for the tribe of Israel that if someone kills another person - unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth - it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs but even after that many of them committed outrages in the earth. (Surat al-Maida: 32)

As we can see from the above verse, killing one innocent person is regarded as equivalent to killing all of mankind. In another verse, the importance that the faithful attach to life is expressed in these terms:

"Those who do not call on any other god together with Allah and do not kill anyone Allah has made inviolate, except with the right to do so, and do not fornicate; anyone who does that will receive an evil punishment" (Surat al-Furqan: 68 )

In yet another verse, Allah issues the following commandment:

Say: 'Come and I will recite to you what your Lord has made haram for you': that you do not associate anything with Him; that you are good to your parents; that you do not kill your children because of poverty - We will provide for you and them; that you do not approach indecency - outward or inward; that you do not kill any person Allah has made inviolate - except with the right to do so. That is what He instructs you to do so that hopefully you will use your intellect. (Surat al-An'am: 151)

Any Muslim who believes in Allah with a sincere heart, who scrupulously abides by His holy verses and fears suffering in the hereafter will avoid harming even one other person. That is because he knows that Allah is the Lord of Infinite Justice, and will suitably reward him for all his deeds. In one of the hadiths, our Prophet listed the kinds of people who are not pleasing to Allah, 'Those who act cruelly and unjustly in the sacred lands, those who yearn for the ways of the ignorant and those who wrongly shed human blood.' (Bukhari)

Sheikh Sayyed Hassan NasserAllah

Sheikh Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement. He was born in 1960 in the Bourji Hammoud neighborhood east of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

In 1975, the civil war in Lebanon forced Nasrallahs family to move to their ancestral home in the South Lebanese village of Bassouriyeh where Nasrallah joined the Amal movement, a political group that represents Shiites in Lebanon.

At that time he was just 15-years-old and Amal was known by the name of the movement of the deprived.

Nasrallah then moved to Najaf in Iraq to study Quraanic divine sciences at a Shiites school.

In 1978, he completed the first stage of his studies successfully inside Hawza (Islamic Seminary), but his studies were interrupted when he was forced to leave by the Iraqi authorities. He then returned to Lebanon, where he studied at the school of Amals leader Sheikh Abbas al-Musawi.

A few years later, Amal elected Nasrallah as its political delegate in Bikaa, making him a member of the central political offices.

After the Israeli invasion in 1982, Nasrallah dedicated himself to the anti-Israeli resistance and joined Hezbollah which mainly aims at resisting the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon in the Bekaa Valley.

Despite his commitment to Hezbollah, Nasrallah was determined to resume his religious education to become a religious jurisprudent. In 1989, he moved to the sacred Iranian city of Qum to continue his studies.

Nasrallah is married to Fatima Yassin, who comes from the Labanese village of Al Abbasiyee. They have three children remained after their elder son, Hadi, was killed by Israeli occupation forces when he was 18-year-old.

The forty-four-old leader said once in an interview that he reads many books, particularly the memoirs of political figures, including the Memoirs of Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahus book A Place under the Sun, with the intention of getting to know his enemies.

He became the leader of Hezbollah after Israel assassinated the movements leader Sheikh Musawi in 1992.

Nasrallah is considered one of the most powerful and charismatic figures in the Middle East. He is a leader who endlessly fights for the rights of the Arabs and the Muslims.

Under his leadership, Hezbollah became a serious opponent of the Israeli occupation. The movements resistance was one of the main factors that led to the Israeli withdrawal from Southern Lebanon in 2000, ending 22-years of occupation.

Nasrallah also played a major role in the prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hezbollah in 2004. The agreement was described among the Arab world as a great victory for Hezbollah and Nasrallah was praised as a hero for achieving gains in the Arab-Israeli conflict that no other Arab figure has attained.

For him, Hezbollah isnt just a resistance group. He believes that it carries a message that depends on the Islamic belief.

Nasrallah also believes that Islam can solve all the problems for any society, but he makes clear that the movement doesnt intend to force people into Islam.

He once said that With respect to us, briefly, Islam is not a simple religion including only praises and prayers, rather it is a divine message that was designed for humanity, and it can answer any question man might ask concerning his general and private life. Islam is a religion designed for a society that can revolt and build a state.

Modern feet step back 1.5 million years

Human ancestors created some remarkably lasting impressions on the eastern African landscape around 1.5 million years ago. Walking across a muddy patch of terrain near what’s now Ileret, Kenya, these ancient individuals left footprints that hardened and have now been excavated by a team of scientists.

On close inspection, the preserved footprints provide the oldest evidence for a virtually modern-human foot and walking style in a human ancestor, report geologist Matthew Bennett of Bournemouth University in Poole, England, and his colleagues in the Feb. 27 Science. Finding what amounts to the fossilized behavior of these creatures provides new clues to the evolution of upright stance and walking in modern humans.

Bennett’s team identifies the ancestor as an early Africa-based Homo erectus, or Homo ergaster as some scientists call it.

Measures of the size, spacing and depth of the Ileret impressions allowed the researchers to estimate individuals’ heights, weights and stride lengths, all of which fell within the range of modern humans. Digitized images of the newly discovered footprints show a big toe in line with the other toes, an arrangement that contrasts with the angled, grasping big toes of apes. Other humanlike features of the prints include a pronounced arch and short toes.
